Study on growth hormones

New application observation
The Fertility Practice Participates in a multicenter study regarding the use of growth hormone. After various studies have shown an improvement in pregnancy rates and a reduction in the risk of miscarriage in women with so-called „habitual abortion tendencies“, it is now being examined to what extent the intrauterine administration of growth factors can improve the development of the uterine lining. Smaller observational studies have already shown that women with implantation failure benefit from the use of growth factors.
The „granulocyte“ (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor – G-CSF) is used here, which is already known from several studies.
The use of G-CSF is a new method for improving the implantation of transferred embryos. G-CSF is a cytokine. These substances regulate the growth and differentiation (expression) of cells. They are also referred to as growth factors. G-CSF stimulates the formation of white blood cells. However, this does not necessarily have to be the only target organ. There is evidence that the endometrium, the lining of the uterus, is itself susceptible to this growth stimulus.
Patients who are eligible for this application observation:
- More than 3 unsuccessful IVF treatments with transfer of at least 5 morphologically good embryos,
- Women with very thin mucous membranes in previous cycles who have not responded to mechanical endometrial irritation and blood-flow-promoting measures (e.g., Viagra),
- Women with Z. n. multiple abortions
- Women of advanced age who therefore have reduced chances of implantation.
- Women with reduced ovarian function, so-called „low responders“
