Hormone diagnostics

Basic diagnostic testing always includes meaningful and comprehensive hormone testing. The cycle day, age, and other parameters are all important factors here.

Hormone diagnostics is necessary in

  • Menstrual disorders
  • Problems with ovulation
  • Suspected hormonal changes
  • after more than 2 miscarriages

It is also advisable to undergo hormonal diagnostics to detect disorders before they become noticeable, for example as a menstrual disorder, but have already had a negative impact on fertility. For example, some latent hormonal disorders can also have negative effects during pregnancy.

Of course, hormone tests are also useful during ongoing treatments, for example to determine the most appropriate time for insemination (sperm transfer) or follicular puncture (ovulation extraction) in IVF (in vitro fertilization, glass-tube fertilization).

Especially in the NC IVF (Natural Cycle IVF, IVF in the natural cycle) method, where the ovulation is not suppressed with medication to determine the most favorable time for the oocyte retrieval for the patient and the doctor, slightly more frequent examinations are necessary.
