Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a benign but mostly very painful and chronic condition in young women of reproductive age.
Endometriosis causes massive physical and emotional problems for those affected. After uterine fibroids, endometriosis is the most common benign disease in women: in Germany alone, according to cautious estimates, at least two million women are affected. Yet this disease is often dismissed as a minor problem: "All women have a little pain" – "Everything gets better after the birth of the first child" – young women hear this and are unnecessarily reassured.
