Cryo cycle

In the so-called Cryo cycle Depending on any „gynaecological underlying condition“, an embryo that was frozen as an egg cell, fertilized egg or already as an embryo, is transferred into the uterus either during the natural cycle or under hormonal stimulation. The effort is very minimal, as the patient usually only needs to come for an ultrasound once, around the 12th day of the cycle, to determine the optimal day for the transfer. If it appears necessary, stimulation therapy with clomiphene tablets (possibly disadvantage: flat mucous membrane) or by injection stimulation can also be performed. In this case, it does not depend on the growing eggs during stimulation, but on the hormone production of the ovaries.

Another way to design a cycle is the so-called „artificial cycle“ or HRT Zayklus (HRT-Hormonal Replacement therapy). In this case, the woman first takes exclusively estrogen (orally, vaginally, or transcutaneously), which causes the uterine lining to grow. When the optimal ovulation point is reached, progesterone (a hormone produced by the ovaries (oral or vaginal)) is additionally added. The advantage of this procedure lies in its very low cost and independence from the condition of the ovaries. The disadvantage is that, since no follicle and therefore no estrogen and progesterone take over the hormonal supply, the estrogen and progesterone must be continued until approximately the 10th week of pregnancy.

Depending on the type of cryopreservation and the type of frozen cell, pregnancy rates can be achieved that correspond to those in the „fresh cycle“. There are recent scientific observations that show that the pregnancy rates in the cryopreservation cycle can even be slightly better than in the fresh cycle. However, this does not apply to the most commonly still performed slow freezing, But only for the Vitrification.

We perform the tests in our laboratory, except for sperm samples. Vitrification over.
Information about vitrification

slow-freezing

In what is probably the most commonly used „slow-freezing“ method worldwide to date, the cells are cooled step-by-step to -196 degrees Celsius using computer control, which makes it possible to store the cells for a long period of time while the cell’s biological processes are halted.

Vitrification

For about ten years, vitrification has also been used increasingly in the field of human medicine. This is an ultra-fast freezing process.

Cryo cycle

During the cryocycle, an embryo, either in its natural cycle or under hormonal stimulation, is transferred into the uterus either as an egg cell, a fertilized egg or an embryo that has already been frozen.
