Higher pregnancy rate through acupuncture

It has been known for years that the use of acupuncture in the context of fertility treatment can lead to improved results.

To investigate this in our patient cohort, we retrospectively compared 300 female patients from the treatment year 2011 with comparable underlying diseases, treatment course, number of transferred embryos, and other factors.

Of the 300 transfers, 56 were performed with acupuncture and 244 without. After the 56 transfers with acupuncture, 25 women became pregnant (44.6 %) while 90 (36.9) of the 244 without were not %.

Thus, we can only confirm the benefit of acupuncture treatment in the context of IVF the ICSI treatment itself.

The high pregnancy rate/cycle in our center anyway, can thus apparently be further increased through this additional service.

For comparison, the average pregnancy rate achieved in Germany (data from the DIR-German IVF Register) is 28.6 %.
