This includes, for example, hormonal stimulation alone in preparation for domestic intercourse (VZO intercourse to the optimum), or such diagnostic methods as laparoscopy or HSSG (contrast medium sonography).<\/p>\n<h3>Artificial insemination<\/h3>\n<p>Since the health reform of January 1, 2004, patients with statutory health insurance are subject to certain mandatory requirements concerning the reimbursement of costs for artificial insemination methods.<\/p>\n<p>The primary condition is that the treatment centre must be licensed by the health authority of its federal state.<\/p>\n<p>If artificial insemination (insemination, IVF or ICSI) is planned, the patient must first submit an application for confirmation of coverage to the health insurer.<\/p>\n<p>The health insurers will cover up to 50 % of the costs for each of the following<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>up to <strong>eight inseminations without stimulation<\/strong> (this can\u00a0be done with clomiphene if needed),<\/li>\n<li><strong>up to three insemination cycles with hormonal stimulation<\/strong> (Gonal F, Puregon, Menogon)<\/li>\n<li><strong>three IVF or three ICSI cycles<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>The coverage is conditional on the following:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The couple must be married to each other.<\/li>\n<li>The wife must be at least 25 and no older than 39 years old.<\/li>\n<li>The husband must not be older than 49.<\/li>\n<li>IVF and ICSI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Approximately 1100.00 to 2200.00 Euros (depending on the medications required)<\/p>\n<h3>What are the anticipated costs per cycle?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The costs for <a href=\"https:\/\/kwt.meiio.net\/spektrum\/kinderwunsch\/therapie-des-unerfuellten-kinderwunsches\/iui-intrauterine-insemination\">insemination in a non-stimulated cycle<\/a> (including clomiphene stimulation, if required) total approximately 60.00 to 120.00 Euros (depending on the medications required).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The costs for <a href=\"https:\/\/kwt.meiio.net\/spektrum\/kinderwunsch\/therapie-des-unerfuellten-kinderwunsches\/iui-intrauterine-insemination\">insemination in a stimulated cycle<\/a> total 150.00 to 500.00 Euros, depending on the medications required. However, in individual cases, the costs may be much higher if the hormonal stimulation needs to be at a higher dose and if prolonged stimulation is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The costs to the patient for <a href=\"https:\/\/kwt.meiio.net\/spektrum\/kinderwunsch\/therapie-des-unerfuellten-kinderwunsches\/ivf-in-vitro-fertilisation\">IVF<\/a> generally amount to approximately 1500.00 Euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The costs to the patient for <a href=\"https:\/\/kwt.meiio.net\/spektrum\/kinderwunsch\/therapie-des-unerfuellten-kinderwunsches\/icsi-intrazytoplasmatische-spermien-injektion\">ICSI<\/a> (conventional ICSI) generally amount to approximately 1700.00 Euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The prices listed correspond to the patient\u2019s deductible of 50 % per cycle.<\/p>\n<h4>Additional benefits that are excluded from reimbursement:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>HALO sperm test (160.00 Euros)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cryopreservation of inseminated egg cells (approximately 400.00 Euros)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Rent for a storage period of 6 months (125.00 Euros)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Cryo cycles in order to transfer previously frozen inseminated egg cells (approximately 450.00 to 600.00 Euros), plus the cost of medication of approximately 100.00 to 500.00 Euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisted hatching (laser assisted embryo hatching): approximately 170.00 Euros<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Polar body diagnostics: between 900.00 and 1600.00 Euros.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Treatment with donor semen (<a title=\"Costs for treatment with donor semen\" href=\"https:\/\/www.berliner-samenbank.de\/patienten\/kosten.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">See there for costs<\/a>, <a title=\"Berlin Sperm Bank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.berliner-samenbank.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Berlin Sperm Bank<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An application has been submitted for approval after licensing of the centre in accordance with \u00a7 27a.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Patients with German statutory health insurance (GKV) must obtain confirmation of coverage before starting artificial fertility procedures.
